One of my former colleagues and friend now retired from the Canadian Coast Guard, Peter Dalton (aka Captain) has invited me to accompany him on a sailing trip initially from Halifax, to Picton ON. aboard his sailboat the S/V JAFTICA. This is a chronicle of the journey plus other relevant and irrelevant musings and observations. Though not completed - we only got to Pictou NS. - it was a great experience.
The van also "cast off" from Halifax this morning and arrived safely in Fredericton this afternoon where it will be "berthed" until Saturday.
ReplyDeleteForgot to mention that I battled 65 km/h gusts of wind and a torrential downpour in the van on the way to Fredericton. It was a segment of the trip that would have been better suited to Jaftica.
