One of my former colleagues and friend now retired from the Canadian Coast Guard, Peter Dalton (aka Captain) has invited me to accompany him on a sailing trip initially from Halifax, to Picton ON. aboard his sailboat the S/V JAFTICA. This is a chronicle of the journey plus other relevant and irrelevant musings and observations. Though not completed - we only got to Pictou NS. - it was a great experience.

Boat Peter and Peter with an Eye.
To distinguish us two Peters, my parents have decided to call Capt. Peter as "Boat Peter". Other friends distinguished us by referring to us as Peter and Peter with an "i" or Pieter.
